Mike was very pleased with the final manuscript of his new book, which he approved just a couple of weeks prior to his death. He was also quite excited about it being published by McGraw-Hill Publishing/Contemporary Books, and the fact that John Little, a close friend and colleague, had agreed to co-author the book with him. Aside from the fact that the book is a masterpiece about the legendary HEAVY DUTY high-intensity training system, it is the last book written by Mike Mentzer. According to the book's publisher "High Intensity Training the Mike Mentzer Way" has already become a bestseller, as the authentic teachings of the legendary Mike Mentzer continue!
November 15, 2002, marks a date that many of us already remember as Mike's birthday, and this year would have marked his 51st birthday. If Mike were here now, we would be celebrating this day together, and I wish he could be here to share it with us. As I write this notice to you, I can clearly recall the moments of happiness that we shared together about this book, during his last few days with us, and the sense of pride he felt for this wonderful accomplishment. What better way is there to celebrate and honor his birthday than by sharing this news of the release of his new book with all of you? We share your excitement and enthusiasm for wanting to hear more from Mike Mentzer, and we believe you will cherish the book as much as we do and learn even more from his words to you.

THE FINAL BOOK BY
The name of Mike Mentzer is synonymous with physical perfection in the art and science of bodybuilding. He was the first bodybuilder to ever garner a perfect score in competition and an innovator and pioneer in the realm of bodybuilding training and nutrition. Mentzer's ideas - culled from intense personal research with thousands of bodybuilders the world over, as well as his own vast in-the-gym experiences - have been embraced by bodybuilders, fitness enthusiasts, CEOs of multi-million dollar corporations, and hailed by the scientific community.
More than any other bodybuilding writer or authority, Mike Mentzer has single-handedly changed the way American bodybuilders have looked at exercise. His insights have been highly sought after by bodybuilding magazine publishers (Muscle & Fitness, Flex, All Natural Muscular Development, Ironman, and MuscleMag International) for over 20 years.
Although he was a prolific writer and lecturer, traveling the world to speak on the subjects of muscle building and the art of living a more rational and rewarding life, the distilled wisdom of his over 30 years of study and research into the ultimate nature of bodybuilding training has never before been recorded into a single volume - until now!
